Course includes both PowerPoint presentations and hands-on Photoshop Elements 7 and 8 demonstrations to teach you how to correct and enhance your photographic images. You will learn how to Crop images, remove spots and other imperfections, lighten areas, darken areas, clone, copy and paste selections, straighten crooked images and combine copies of an image.

Digital Corrections on Faces Learn how to correct for red-eye, remove or diminish blemishes and freckles,soften wrinkles, whiten teeth and eyes, and improve facial features & much more.

Digital Enhancements Learn professional techniques to correct poor exposures, sharpen a images with no halos, remove color casts, change a color or colors,remove unwanted objects and add a new sky.

Photographic Restoration Learn the techniques for restoring old and new photographs, repair scratches, rips, cracks, dust spots & stains, bring old photos back original color and recreate missing sections. In addition (as time permits), we will create panoramas from a series of photographs, add lettering to an image, show how to print on various papers and how to spray and mount photographic prints.

ABOUT INSTRUCTOR BOB CARLSEN

Bob Carlsen studied art & design at St. Petersburg’s College in Florida and began taking photographs in the late 1960’s.  After college, he moved to New Jersey where in the mid 1970’s and began shooting wedding and portraits for various wedding studios in the northern New Jersey area.  Within three years he started and operated his own photography business, “Robert Carlsen Photography”.  Bob was presented with the opportunity to video the wedding of actor David Coulier (TV show, Full House) to actress Jane Modean (movie “Spring Break”).  After their wedding video was shown he spent the next three years as a wedding videographer.

Bob moved to Packanack Lake, Wayne, NJ in 1993 were he began shooting landscapes of Packanack Lake.  His landscape photographs were soon earning him many awards and have been printed in calendars, on note cards, and on the cover of the Wayne Magazine.

Bob exhibits his photographs and photographic art in New York City and throughout the NY/NJ metropolitan area including the Salmagundi Juried Photo Exhibitions (NYC), Packanack Lake Art & Photography Shows, Ringwood Assc. of the Arts shows, St. Catherine of Bologna shows, Sussex Arts & Heritage Council show, NJ Annual Sr. Citizen Art and Photo Shows, Unique Photo “Put Your Photo Here” Exhibition and many more.

In 2008 five of Bob’s images were included in the 169 printed in the “Great Destinations, NJ” book.  They were selected from over 18,000 photographs entered for publication.

He is a founding member and current president of the New Jersey Photographers Group, a founding member of the Wayne Art Association, president of the Packanack Lake Art & Photography Club and a member of NAPP.
