You have a digital SLR, you know that the images are going to be far superior to the ones captured by your point-and-shoot camera, but not sure how that happens. In this course, students will learn the basic principles and advantages that come with a digital SLR camera.
This class is for beginners to amateur photographers looking to gain a better understanding of the automated modes and features, as well as the manual control and capabilities of your digital SLR. Head Instructor Michael Downey will instruct you on the importance of understanding the fundamentals of photography such as depth of field, ISO, aperature, shutter speed, exposure compensation, metering, white balance, reading histograms, on camera flashes, lenses, and how each of these will affect your photos!
In the second half of the class, the students will work with their cameras and apply what they have learned. The buttons and settings will be much easier to manipulate and each student will have develop the ability to capture the images closer to their vision.
This course is held in the classroom at Unique Photo, 123 US Highway 46 (West), Fairfield, NJ 07004. You will benefit by bringing your basic photographic gear. Weather permiting, you will have an opportunity to photograph outside.
ABOUT HEAD INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL DOWNEY
Michael is the Head Instructor of Unique University. He currently owns and operates Michael Downey Photography, Inc. out of Somerville, New Jersey. He has photographed hundreds of moderate to high-end weddings throughout the northeast. He also teaches regularly during photowalks and workshops. His images can be seen at New Century Artist Art Gallery in the Chesea section of Manhattan.
